If you knew me you would know that I am always working on some kind of project- a painting, a costume, or perhaps a t-shirt quilt. The last being an epic fail for me- I should have gone to another week of sewing camp in 5th grade because I definitely could have used some more schooling.
I don't know what got me into doing crafts. Maybe it’s because I was too cheap to pay for something that I thought that I could make; or maybe I, being super detailed and a somewhat a complete perfectionist, liked a good challenge? Regardless, I have found an escape and even a joy in doing crafts. Now don't get me wrong I can't just sit at home all day and night working away in my room listening to indie music with my Scentsy on full blast. Though I am a bit of an introvert, I do love people and hearing about their lives and stories and if that happens to lead into some crafty workings then- oh happy day! Still sometimes I get the urge to just make something with my hands and that is where I have to seek out people. I have to have a purpose- an inspiration before I can even start something, and that is where my friends, family and co-worker come in.
Being crafty wasn't something that I really advertised, it was something that I wanted to do in order to give someone a tangible replication of something that they liked or moved them. This is where my painting comes in- give me a quote and a couple of colors (and any other parameters you may have) and I will recreate the meaning that the quote evokes in me. Now my other hobbies in little girl accessories realm, is a little less profound but still just as exciting. I just try to imagine what a little girl would want to feel like when wearing an over the top bow or slipping on her fluffy princess tutu.
Overall, I would love to do crafts all the time but for other people so this is my step towards me doing something that really brings me happiness. Welcome to Little Girl Swag!
